ICON Floor Prep proudly recommends and installs CureCrete and RetroPlate systems, and has experience installing most commercially available densifier and polish systems according to spec including Prosoco, AmeriPolish, and SpecCHEM.
POLISHED CONCRETE
Polished concrete is achieved by abrading the surface with successively finer abrasive materials until the desired level of polish is achieved. Densifier is applied during the process, reacting with the concrete, and hardening the surface providing increased durability. The finish is extremely durable and will continue to harden for the life of the floor. ICON Floor Prep has the experience and knowledge to help you achieve your desired finish, whether it be a Level 5 exposed aggregate finish, or an industrial Level 2 finish.
SEALED CONCRETE
Sealed concrete is a broad term, but generally refers to preparing the surface according to desired finish, but typically not exceeding a Level 1 finish (100-200 grit). When the floor is ready, a topical sealant is then applied to seal and protect the surface from moisture and chemicals. This is typically applied in service rooms, although they are growing in popularity for other commercial applications where chemical and moisture resistance are desired. As these finishes are topical, they will require service and reapplication in high traffic areas.
STAINED CONCRETE
Concrete staining involves the application of penetrating dyes or reactive acids to color the concrete and provide increased visual aesthetic. These finishes are typically applied in conjunction with polished or sealed concrete during the process. The end results can vary greatly based on the concrete that the type of stain that is being applied. ICON Floor Prep has the experience and knowledge to help you find the right finish and method to bring out the best in your floor.
POLISHABLE TOPPINGS
Polishable toppings are a great option when a polished concrete floor is desired but the existing slab is marred by pitting, excessive cut and fill, and other factors that will limit the final finish quality. These topping are designed to poured as a monolithic layer and then polished or sealed according to specification. When applied properly and stained, they provide tremendous visual impact and aesthetic beauty while delivering a durable and servicable floor.
